工件在磁粉探傷時將工件磁化;當工件的長軸與地磁方向一致并受到沖擊或振動載荷時被地磁場磁化;工件磨削、電弧焊接、低頻加熱及強磁體接觸被磁化等。只有在個別情況下工件上的剩磁有用處,但在絕大多數(shù)情況下,其上的剩磁都是有害的,故進行退磁,退磁就是將工件內的剩磁減小到不妨礙使用的程度。
